So I've finally broken down and started a blog. My hope is that it will help me keep track of all the special family milestones and moments. Life seems to be flying right by and I can barely catch my breath. Why title it v squared? Many of the Vande Voort urls were already taken and one of my dear teacher friends used to call me V squared. V2 kind of sounded like a cool blog name too.
So I'll mainly be blogging about my wonderful family. I'm a former special education teacher and am now a stay at home mommy. This is my first year out of teaching and while I'm miss it I'm thrilled to be home with my little peanut. Although I don't have much free time these days when I do I enjoy photography, traveling, reading, and shopping. I'm married to Shane and we've been married almost six years. We are still madly in love and I can never get enough time with him. Those six years have flown by with the exception of the nine months I was pregnant. Shane is the owner of Classic Aviation and the manager of the Pella Airport. Check out http://www.flyclassicaviation.com/ if your an aviation nut. Shane enjoys biking, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles. His newest interest is fly fishing and he got all the needed gear for Christmas this year. The down side is that his job doesn't allow him much free time.
On May 26, 2009 we added the newest member of our family, Sullivan Larrel. He weighed in at 9lbs 4oz and was 19 1/2 inches (I WAS HUGE!). It amazes me how much he has changed in the last seven months. When people say don't blink or you'll miss something they mean it! Sullivan enjoys his binky, throwing toys on the floor, cuddling with mommy, playing with his aunties and grandparents, and messing with his daddy. He is a sweet good natured baby. His big claim to fame is that he has slept through the night since before he was two months old.
And that is the Vande Voort family in a nutshell.
